The Certificate IV in Business course is perfect if you are looking for a more demanding/rewarding course that better reflects your abilities. It’s the next level up from the entry-level - and a step down from the Diploma - and your expected answers to assessments should match the increased depth and breadth of the content.  It’s obviously more respected - and looks better on your resume - when you’re looking for a business or admin job or promotion. It flows naturally from the Certificate III in Business and is a good lead into the Diploma level.

You’ll learn about how business operates and what is the best thing to do in a business environment.  You could have 1 -2 years experience in an Admin Assistant role in a larger organisation, or a Team Leader or even an Office Manager for a smaller business. Some of the things you’ll do in your job at this level would include using some discretion in business practices, judgment and responsibility for the admin of the business, and applying relevant theoretical knowledge. You may even provide technical advice and support to a team. You’ll work with outside suppliers to purchase the right equipment, make sure they arrive on time and work properly. You might work under supervision, and may have some authority to delegate.

We’re pretty sure you’ll also get a lot of confidence to prepare you for work. You can learn how to do business stuff in a business environment, try a few things, get some feedback from our Mentors, and then become really good at this. You can slap your resume - complete with your new Qualification - onto the desk of the job interviewer knowing you’ve got what they want!

The Certificate IV in Business is a solid, broad course that is applicable in all business, which means you can go almost anywhere once you’ve got some experience and shown how good you are! Some of our graduates head down these paths;

  • Admin Manager
  • Team Leader
  • Senior Customer Service
  • Executive Assistant
  • Human Resources Assistant
  • Marketing Assistant
  • Real Estate

You’ll naturally get credit for what you do in this course. Upon completing a Certificate IV in Business, you can continue your studies through the Diploma of Business or Diploma of Leadership & Management. The credits you earn in this course can count towards further qualifications, which means it’s quicker and cheaper to advance to higher qualifications.

What others have to say

The course was very educational and at the same time very fun. I loved (my Mentor) Michelle's comments. She made me feel very special (and smart!!). I enjoyed every moment of it!

Mariela R

Graduate - Certificate III and IV in Business Administration

I learned a lot through my course. The information was relevant to my job and the delivery was really fun and engaging. The Mentors were excellent in helping me with my studies. I can highly recommend these guys!

Simon C

Graduate - Certificate IV in Customer Engagement

I would like to say thank you to the team at Edmund Barton College, I know every time I have contacted the college the employees have been amazing with their customer service

Ashley G

Graduate - Certificate IV in Business Administration

"I have thoroughly enjoyed completely this Diploma, it was something that I thought was out of my reach. My Mentor’s kind words every step of the way has been encouraging and motivating. I certainly found the last two topics the hardest to get motivated to do, as life certainly got busier and procrastination kicked in. I have finished just in time for the festive season.”

Graduate - Diploma of Leadership & Management
